TCC Attends Diverse Together 2026
On 10 June 2026, TCC’s Community Organiser and Communications Officer attended Diverse Together 2026, a conference bringing together community organisers, public bodies and regional partners to explore how we can build a more socially cohesive North Wales.

Returning for its second year and hosted by the North East and North West Wales Community Cohesion Teams, the event welcomed more than 200 attendees from across the region.
The conference focused on a range of themes including:
* A joint approach to cohesion, culture and wellbeing
* Positive and inclusive responses to community polarisation
* Wellbeing Impact Assessments and supporting input from under-represented communities
* Community mapping and identifying local and regional assets
* Developing a shared Community Cohesion Strategy for North Wales
* Interactive workshops and networking opportunities

TCC Communications Officer Justin Espie said:
“Diverse Together 2026 was an important event with several keynote speakers, but importantly the focus was geared more towards action. I was particularly impressed with the narrative which, to me, highlighted that we should expect better leadership at the national level whilst encouraging individuals to be personally accountable to challenge hatred in a proactive but non-confrontational way.
It’s given me some great ideas for one of our developing campaigns.”
The event provided valuable opportunities to connect with organisations from across North Wales and explore practical approaches to strengthening community relationships, improving understanding and promoting inclusion.

The learning from Diverse Together 2026 will help inform TCC’s developing Belonging in the Community campaign. Although still in its early stages, the campaign aims to explore how we can strengthen connections across communities, challenge “us and them” narratives and promote a stronger sense of belonging for everyone who calls Wrexham home. We look forward to sharing more about this work in the coming months.
