TCC Shares Community Organising Story on Wrexham City Radio

Together Creating Communities (TCC) Co-Managers Sue Williams and Ruth Marshall were delighted to visit Wrexham City Radio on 5 August, where they joined presenter Pete Howell on the station’s popular 4–6pm Community Show.

Pete is well known across Wrexham for his many community roles. Alongside presenting on Wrexham City Radio, he serves as Councillor for Gwersyllt South Ward and is Chair of Trustees at AVOW. Having attended the recent Wrexham Poverty Action Collaboration (WPAC) Tackling Poverty Assembly, Pete was keen to invite TCC onto the programme to share more about the organisation’s work.

The interview provided an opportunity to discuss how TCC supports people to become Community Leaders through community organising, helping residents identify the issues that matter most to them and equipping them with the confidence, skills and networks to create positive change. Sue and Ruth also spoke about TCC’s wider role in supporting community groups, charities and partner organisations to strengthen local leadership and encourage meaningful participation in decision-making.

With Wrexham City Radio based in Eagles Meadow, the conversation naturally turned to the forthcoming Wrexham Ffair, taking place in September. The interview gave listeners an early insight into the event, why TCC is involved, and how it aims to celebrate community, creativity and collaboration in the heart of the city.
