Wrexham Ffair – Day 3: Saturday 19 September
Saturday is the BIG one!
After two days of music, creativity, workshops, conversation and community, Saturday 19 September is the biggest and busiest day of Wrexham Ffair.
There will be music and live performance, creative activities, workshops, food, family activities, talks, a community walk, opportunities to make things, opportunities to share ideas – and plenty of chances simply to come along and enjoy yourself.
Activities will be taking place across Eagles Meadow, Lle Hapus, YLAB and Wrexham Sewing Studio, with the Ffair bringing together a wonderfully varied mix of people, organisations, artists and community groups.
You don’t have to come for one particular reason. Come for the music. Bring the family. Join a workshop. Take part in the Unity Walk. Make something. Listen to someone. Meet people. Or just come along and see what’s happening.
🌱 Climate Cymru
Climate Cymru will be with us throughout the day with Imagine Action Training and a Mapping Exercise, taking place at YLAB.
The activity offers an opportunity to get involved, explore ideas and think about the communities and places we want to create.
🧵 Wrexham Sewing Studio
Wrexham Sewing Studio will be welcoming people throughout the day for an Open House, with a range of activities taking place.
There will be:
- Community bunting making
- Craft activities
- Badge making
- Learn-to-sew activities
- Food and participatory activities
- An egg hunt for children
It’s a chance to have a look around, get creative and join in – whether you’re already comfortable with a sewing machine or simply fancy having a go.
🧱 RBWH Lego Workshop
Fancy building something?
RBWH will be running a Lego workshop, giving people the chance to get creative and build together.
🎨 The Fête
The Fête will be bringing craft activities and film screenings to Saturday’s programme.
There will also be plenty of other creative opportunities happening throughout the day.
🗣️ Byline Network – A Citizen’s Agenda for Wrexham
At 12 noon, Byline Network will host a talk exploring A Citizen’s Agenda for Wrexham.
It’s an opportunity to listen, think and take part in a conversation about the kind of community and future people want to see.
🚶 Wrexham Africa Community – Unity Walk & Party
One of Saturday’s highlights will be the Wrexham Africa Community Unity Walk & Party.
The walk will start at Belle Vue Park in Wrexham and make its way to Wrexham Ffair, where the celebration continues.
It’s a great example of what the Ffair is about: people coming together, sharing experiences and enjoying community.
🎶 Music and live performance
And then there’s the music…
Saturday has a full programme of live performance, starting in the afternoon and continuing into the evening.
1pm – Dynamic Signing Choir
At 1pm, the Dynamic Signing Choir will perform, bringing together music, singing and signing.
2pm – Panedeni
At 2pm, Panedeni take to the stage.
3pm – Matt Nicholls
At 3pm, Matt Nicholls brings more live music to the Ffair.
4pm – Igloo Hearts
At 4pm, it’s the turn of Igloo Hearts.
6pm – Good Neighbours
The evening gets underway with a live show from Good Neighbours at 6pm.
And that’s not the end of it…
7pm onwards – Good Neighbours After Show Party
Following their live show, Good Neighbours will keep things going with their After Show Party, continuing into the evening.
So if music is your thing, Saturday is definitely the day to come along.
💭 Common Cause Foundation
At 2pm, Common Cause Foundation will be hosting Exploring Our Values Together.
An opportunity to think about the values we share, what matters to us and what brings people together.
✍️ OUR HOUSE – Charter Writing
At 3pm, OUR HOUSE will host a 90-minute Charter Writing session.
This is another opportunity for people to contribute their ideas and have their voices heard as part of the wider Ffair.
💃 YLAB
There will be workshops taking place at YLAB throughout the day, including dance and DJ workshops.
So there are plenty of opportunities to do more than simply watch – you can get involved yourself.
🎨 Paint Your Dreams
Paint Your Dreams, with Lucy Combes, will be available as a drop-in creative activity throughout the day.
Come along, make something and add your own creativity to the Ffair.
❤️ Good Neighbours
Good Neighbours will be part of the Ffair throughout the evening, with their live show followed by the After Show Party.
It’s a chance to finish the day with music, dancing and a good time.
And that’s still not everything…
Saturday’s programme brings together a huge variety of activities and people.
There will be:
Music.
Crafts.
Lego.
Sewing.
Dance.
DJ workshops.
Film.
Spoken and community activity.
Food.
Family activities.
A Unity Walk.
Conversations about Wrexham.
Creative activities.
And, of course, lots of opportunities to meet people.
A day for everyone
The idea behind Wrexham Ffair has always been fairly simple.
Come and enjoy yourself.
You might arrive because you want to hear some music. You might bring the kids. You might be interested in one of the workshops. You might want to take part in the Unity Walk. You might want to hear a particular speaker or performer.
Or you might simply be passing and wonder what is going on.
That’s fine too.
Because community isn’t just something that happens at meetings or in organisations.
Sometimes it’s people making bunting together.
Sometimes it’s children building with Lego.
Sometimes it’s singing.
Sometimes it’s dancing.
Sometimes it’s walking together through the city.
Sometimes it’s sitting down and having a conversation.
And sometimes it’s simply having a good time with people you didn’t know before.
That’s what we’re hoping Wrexham Ffair will feel like.
Different people.
Different backgrounds.
Different ideas.
Different talents.
One community.
