TCC AGM: Reflecting on a Busy Year and Looking Ahead
Our Annual General Meeting is an important moment in the TCC calendar.
It gives us an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day work of community organising, reflect on what we have achieved together over the past year, and look ahead to the challenges and opportunities still to come.
This year’s AGM brought together members of the TCC team, trustees, members and supporters to reflect on another exceptionally busy year for the organisation.
There has certainly been plenty to talk about.
Over the past year, TCC has continued to develop its community organising work and support people to become Community Leaders, while working alongside communities and partner organisations on a growing range of campaigns.
Our work has included tackling poverty through the Wrexham Poverty Action Collaboration, putting lived experience at the heart of mental health conversations through the Mental Health Voices Collaboration, supporting youth-led organising, campaigning for better accessibility, raising awareness of ARFID, and creating opportunities for communities to hold decision-makers to account.
We have also continued to develop our work around community cohesion and belonging, alongside a range of other community-led projects across North Wales.
An AGM is about more than reporting on what has happened, however. It is also an opportunity to think about what comes next.
Community organising is about building relationships, developing leadership and supporting communities to identify and act on the issues that matter to them. That means TCC’s work is continually evolving as new issues emerge, new relationships develop and communities identify new priorities.
Looking ahead, we already have new campaigns, partnerships and opportunities taking shape.
We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to TCC’s work over the past year—our staff and trustees, volunteers, members, partner organisations, funders and, most importantly, the communities and individuals who have trusted us to work alongside them.
The photographs from our AGM offer a small glimpse of the people behind the work.
They are a reminder that, while campaigns and projects may be what people see from the outside, community organising is ultimately about people.
People coming together.
People finding their voice.
People developing the confidence to lead.
And people working together to create positive change.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far.
There’s plenty more to do.
