TCC Named Finalist in Welsh Charity Awards 2026

There’s some lovely news to share from TCC.

Following our nomination earlier this year, Together Creating Communities (TCC) has been named a finalist in the Most Influential Small Organisation category at the Welsh Charity Awards 2026.

The finalists were announced by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) three days ago, and we’re delighted to have made it through to the final.

The timing feels particularly significant for us.

The last few months have been extremely busy for the TCC team. Alongside our ongoing community organising and campaigns, we have been putting a huge amount of time and energy into Wrexham Ffair, as well as continuing our work with communities across North Wales.

It has been a period of long days, lots of moving parts and plenty of hard work behind the scenes.

So, to have that work recognised is genuinely very welcome.

The Most Influential Small Organisation category recognises smaller organisations with an annual income under £250,000 and celebrates the impact they achieve through their work.

For TCC, being named a finalist isn’t simply about the organisation itself. It reflects the contribution of the many people who make our work possible.

That includes our staff and trustees, our volunteers, campaign leaders, partners and funders – and, most importantly, the communities and individuals who work with us, share their experiences and help shape the campaigns and projects we support.

Over the past year that work has included tackling poverty, youth organising, mental health, accessibility, ARFID awareness, community accountability and our Belonging in our Community work – as well as bringing people together through Wrexham Ffair.

Community organising can sometimes be difficult to explain from the outside. Much of the work happens quietly: listening, building relationships, supporting people to find their voice, helping communities organise and creating opportunities for people to influence the things that affect their lives.

So recognition like this matters.

Not because it changes what we do, but because it is a welcome acknowledgement of the effort being put in by a whole network of people.

We’re proud to have been nominated. We’re even more pleased to now be a finalist.

And after such a busy period, it’s also nice to pause for a moment and say thank you to everyone who has helped make the work happen.

The Welsh Charity Awards ceremony takes place on 15 October 2026 at the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff.

Whatever happens on the night, we’re very happy to have reached this point – and very grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey.
