Finding Belonging Through Music at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod
This week, TCC’s Dr Stephen Kenyon-Owen attended the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and captured some of the incredible atmosphere in a short video we are delighted to share.
The footage offers a glimpse into one of Wales’ most celebrated cultural festivals, featuring the colourful Parade of Nations, an impromptu choir, performances by jazz trio Tomos Williams, Aidan Thorne and Matt Holmes, and the wonderful vocal group Mooi.
Perhaps even more striking than the performances themselves was the unmistakable sense of togetherness. Throughout the festival, performers and visitors from across the world came together to celebrate music, culture and friendship. From the USA and China to Norway and beyond, people of many nationalities shared the same stages, streets and experiences.
As TCC continues developing our Belonging in Our Community campaign, the Eisteddfod offers a powerful reminder that communities are strengthened when people come together through shared experiences.
Belonging isn’t about where we come from. It’s about creating places where everyone feels welcomed, valued and able to contribute.
The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod has been doing exactly that for generations.
We hope you enjoy this small glimpse into an extraordinary celebration of music, culture and community.
Watch the video below and experience the spirit of togetherness for yourself.
