Music, musicians and a Saturday full of live performance

There’s already plenty happening at Wrexham Ffair, but now we can reveal the music line-up for Saturday 19 September – and we think there’s something here for just about everyone.

From young performers and local musicians to established North Wales artists and a few names you may recognise from much further afield, the Ffair will be filled with live music throughout the day.

And that’s exactly how we wanted it.

You might come specifically to hear someone you know. You might discover an artist you’ve never heard before. You might simply be passing through Eagles Meadow and stop because you hear something you like.

However you arrive, come for the music and stay for the Ffair.

🎶 Dynamic Signing Sensations

Opening the music programme at 1pm are Dynamic Signing Sensations.

The BSL signing choir brings together young people connected with Dynamic Wrexham, combining music, signing, energy and enthusiasm in performances that invite audiences to join in.

They’re a brilliant example of the sort of performance we wanted at Wrexham Ffair – music that brings people together and gets people involved.

🎶 Panedeni

Panedeni bring together Welsh and Arabic musical influences, creating music that crosses cultures, languages and traditions.

Their name itself tells part of the story: paned, the Welsh word for a cup of tea, combined with Adeni, referring to tea from Yemen.

Their music reflects that coming together, with Welsh, English, Arabic and Bosnian among the languages represented in their work.

Expect something distinctive, beautiful and a little different.

🎶 Matt Nicholls

Matt Nicholls is a familiar name on the Wrexham and North Wales music scene, with a long history of writing and performing music.

He has also been part of Wrexham band Camera, and brings years of experience as a musician and performer to the Ffair.

🎶 Laura-Leigh Dickenson

Another familiar face from the local music scene is Laura-Leigh Dickenson.

Laura-Leigh has been writing and performing music for many years and is also one half of MOOI, the Wrexham songwriting duo she performs with Rachel Lloyd.

For Wrexham Ffair, Laura-Leigh will be performing as a solo artist.

It’s another opportunity to hear one of the area’s talented musicians in a different setting.

🎶 Igloo Hearts

Igloo Hearts are Wrexham-born husband-and-wife duo James and Katie MacGregor.

Their music combines piano, guitar and close harmonies, creating an intimate sound that sits somewhere between folk, pop and something altogether more cinematic.

They’ve built a strong following through their live performances and appearances at events including FOCUS Wales and the Llangollen International Eisteddfod.

We’re delighted to have them back in their home area for Wrexham Ffair.

🎸 Guitar Olly

And we’ve got a very exciting late addition to the programme…

Guitar Olly!

Wrexham’s own Olly Pearson became nationally known after his appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, where his guitar playing took him all the way to the 2025 final, finishing fourth overall.

Now he’s bringing his guitar to Wrexham Ffair.

If you’ve seen Olly perform before, you’ll know that this is one we’re going to want you to hear for yourself.

🎵 And there’s more happening all day

The music is only one part of what will be happening across Wrexham Ffair on Saturday.

Alongside the live performances there will be:

creative workshops
dance and DJ activities
family activities
food and community activities
craft and making activities
the Wrexham Africa Community Unity Walk & Party
talks and conversations
opportunities to make, create and take part

There will be things happening at Eagles Meadow, YLAB, Lle Hapus and Wrexham Sewing Studio, so don’t just come for one performance – give yourself time to explore.

One day. Lots of different sounds.

One of the things we love about putting this programme together is just how different the artists are.

Different musical traditions.

Different backgrounds.

Different generations.

Different ways of performing.

And yet they can all share the same stage, in the same town, on the same day.

That’s a pretty good description of Wrexham itself.

You don’t have to agree on everything.

You don’t have to like the same music.

You don’t have to come for the same reason.

You just have to come along.

Come for the music. Come with the family. Come to discover something new.

Or simply come because you’re curious.
