Belonging In Our Community

TCC staff recently participated in training delivered by the Ella Baker School of Organising, which explored the growing impact of division and misinformation within communities, alongside practical approaches to addressing these challenges.

The training highlighted the importance of building relationships, fostering understanding, and avoiding the “othering” of individuals—focusing instead on inclusive approaches that bring people together.

These insights will directly inform TCC’s forthcoming campaign, Belonging in our Community. The campaign will focus on challenging misinformation, promoting inclusion, and recognising the valuable contributions made by all members of the community, regardless of background.

A particularly impactful reflection from the session referenced the lived experience of anti-Irish discrimination within recent history, reinforcing the importance of understanding how exclusion has affected different communities over time.

TCC looks forward to applying these learnings to support stronger, more connected, and inclusive communities.
