Steve Byrne

Stephen was born in Chester and grew up in Ellesmere Port. After qualifying as a Youth Worker, he went on to study Youth and Community Work and spent over 30 years working in health and local government, helping to deliver drug and alcohol services across Liverpool, the Wirral, Chester and Wrexham. He moved permanently to North Wales in 1998.

Stephen has long been interested in community development and social change, drawing inspiration from the work of Paulo Freire, Training for Transformation and his involvement with Caia Park Partnership. He is delighted to be serving as a Trustee with TCC and supporting its community organising work across North East Wales.

Outside of TCC, Stephen enjoys music, art and literature and is a proud grandfather to 16 grandchildren.
